Today
• 7:30 shower
• Home alone
• Draw a few things
• 2 episodes of Malcolm in the Middle
• Dale shows up at my house, with no warning
• The Living Room, no interesting souls, architectural sketches
• Walked to Pannikin
• Overheard a conversation but continued to be unpleasantly uninspired and a bit flustered with/at myself for having the entire day to create and think and yet, doing very little of the two
• It got cold, I went inside and ordered a mocha
• Rory, accompanied by the Pannikin boys, Zac and un-named one (he’s new and wears a beanie constantly) makes claims about how he wishes I worked there and that the new girl is scraggly, soul-less, and “between you and me, really boring”
• Daydreamed I worked at Pannikin over some white mocha and chocolate croissant
• Drew some more and became commissioned by a local “lyricist” to illustrate his book of poems/lyrics
• Bumped into Christopher Canole and had a chat; I’m very excited about his commissions in Los Angeles
• Went to Mia’s house
• Mia was cleaning and in her underwear, so I took out her trash and went for a really great bike ride in the chilled weather and blasted Bon Iver, Kimbra, and Pinback
• Talked to Jordan on the phone; A much needed hello and reminder on how much I love the kid
• Drove to Dale’s house for a silent film
• But the silent film turned into “Imagination Theatre” on AM radio after “AM surfing” in a dark room, lit only by a couple of candles and a star projector
• So we listened to a novela over the air waves and questioned, “What in the name of Anubis is happening?” and then the soothsayer was actually being possessed by the soul of the pharaoh who was trying to save Egypt…
• Then Mia, Dale, and I decided we’d sing to the Fairly Odd Parents theme song, a multitude of catchy commercial tunes…”If you can fit the word ‘diarrhea’ into a jingle…”
• Tucker Bass joined us for quite some time
• And then we drank green tea and listened to recitations of poetry by Dylan Thomas

•
